1. Beautiful Mind
The movie is based on true story of John Forbesh Nash (Russell Crowe), a genius mathematician who won a Nobel Prize in 1994. His brilliance has made him assigned to crack a secret encryption of Soviet telecommunication. However, the job has made him suffered from psychotic episodes.
This movie is not for those who are looking for a happy ending, but John’s brilliance and his discovery are still mind-blowing and will keep you entertained. FYI, this movie won four Oscars, so it is absolutely worth a watch !
2. The Internship
Looking for an absurd-comedy movie about work culture in one of the biggest IT companies in the universe? “The Internship” may suit you! The story revolves around two old-fashioned and are (absolutely) not a digital savvy salesmen, Billy McMahon (Vince Vaughn) and Nick Campbell (Owen Wilson) who try their luck to be the interns at Google company.
Before you’re going sceptical, according to CNN.com, Google stated they were satisfied with the movie, as they said the movie indirectly promoted the company (to be said—the most comfortable workplace in the world) and introduced technology and computer.
3. The Social Network
How well you do you know Facebook before it was famous ?
The Social Network is a biopic of the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Einsberg). In this movie, you will not only know what inspire Zuckerberg, but also the conflict and betrayal as its spice. Don’t call yourself a programmer if you haven’t watched it !
4. Silicon Valley
Let’s brush The Big Bang Theory off because Silicon Valley is rocking this list !
Silicon Valley is a sitcom TV series that depicts a bunch of entrepreneur programmers who build a startup company in Silicon Valley. The story begins when Richard Hendricks (Thomas Middleditch) who unintentionally invents a music app Pied Piper when he works at the large internet company named Hooli. Together with four tech guys, he struggles to develop Pied Piper, along with him trying to balance his passion, life, and romance.
5. Mr. Robot
A story about badass hacker will never be disappointing, so will Mr. Robot. Elliot Anderson (Rami Malek) works as cyber-security engineer but little we know, he also works as a hacker for “Mr. Robot” purposes to attack the largest conglomerate in the world.
Other than programming as the prominent theme of this series, it also discusses psychological issue and other dark themes. This is may not work for those who have weak hearts, but don’t get discouraged because Mr. Robot will be surely pleasing your need for excellent quality series (other than *Game of Thrones* of course).
